What is Binah?

Binah means "understanding" in Hebrew and illustrates the  concept of churning or transforming knowledge into deeper understanding and insight.

While obtaining my Masters Degree in Social Work from Columbia University, I trained in psychodynamic therapy, spiritual therapy, addiction treatment and logotherapy at a residential treatment center for addiction and substance abuse. I then trained in psychodynamic therapy at two different private practices in New York, working with a diverse population of adults and couples.

I specialize in helping couples and individuals work through a range of challenges, including anxiety, grief, addiction, eating disorders, and trauma.

Using my background as an artist, I incorporate visualization and creativity with my clients, encouraging their imaginations, abstract thinking, and self-expression.

While studying for my Masters Degree, I earned my certification as an Intuitive Eating Counselor and have been mentored by the founder of Intuitive Eating for six years. Using a blend of intuitive eating and psychoanalytic approaches, I help people move toward a more peaceful and compassionate relationship with food, their body, and themselves.
